Dental health- early stages

My baby sitter asked me to get my girls toddler toothpaste and tooth brushes. I am very glad that she did. My girls, who are now 18 mons old LOVE brushing their teeth.

I've also read that it's important at a young age, when their teeth finally break through to have them start brushing their teeth.

We actually use to brush their mouths when they were infants to get the milk out of their mouth. Has anyone done that as well?

Nyla is learning to brush her teeth. We started brushing her gums and few teeth at around 14 months.
Honestly, my baby only concentrates on sucking all the tooth paste off the brush and nothing else.(it's baby toothpaste, that states it's safe to swallow on the tube) I have to put a few drops extra on the brush in order for her to actually brush her teeth, I usually get frustrated and end up brushing them for her.

Connor is now 3 years old and has been "brushing" his teeth (gums) since he was a baby. He loves to brush his teeth still. I always start though, I like to make sure they are done good and clean then he partakes. I also found that he really started to get the hang of it when I would brush mine at the same time. Try not to use too much toothpaste when you do that lol. With anything they love to do what we do it is up to us as mothers to make it an inviting and fun expierence for them.
